How to Join Us

The process of Oblate formation starts when one enters the pre-noviate community. There are a number of pre-novitiate communities in the different units that send their students to St. Joseph's Scholasticate. The prenovitiate formation normally lasts for two years, after which one enters a novitiate. The novitiate is canonically and for the most part the students who come to St Joseph's scholasticate go either to "Our Lady of Hope Novitiate" in Johannesburg or "Our lady of Peace Novitiate" at Dobra in Windhoek in Namibia.
